About Computer Engineering Department

The Department of Computer Engineering is the ICT backbone of GPERI. It has well-experienced faculty members and technical staff. It has excellent infrastructure with state of the art equipments and software tools. It offers opportunity to the students to carry out education in areas like Programming, Algorithm, Artificial Intelligence, Graphics, Networks, and Database Systems etc. The department has modern computer laboratories equipped with highly configured desktop and latest updated licensed software. Department has technical clubs like Open Source Technology, Mobile & Wireless, GIC and Association of Computer Engineering Students (ACES) chapter.

Program Outcomes (POs)

    Engineering Graduates will be able to:
  1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  6. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
  7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
  8. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
  9. Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
  10. Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

In last decade the internet has revolutionized all aspects of our lives, from the way we communicate to the way we do business. Wireless communication, online commerce, medicine, and multimedia are examples of new applications that have transformed our world. Computer engineers design, construct, and test the computer systems and software. They have developed the fundamental technologies that made the web possible, including high performance microprocessors, gigabit networks and object-oriented programming languages.


Department of computer engineering is committed to impart the knowledge of computer architecture, software engineering, computer-aided design (VLSI), microprocessor-based design, and applied algorithms to match the pace in technological environment. With the knowledge of mathematics and physics. GTU curriculum gives a solid foundation in both hardware and software design.


The industries are facing challenges with new technology hence, the demand for computer engineers has increased dramatically in recent years. I hope, the students of GPERI will bridge the gap between knowledge and challenges.

Mechanical Labs

Elements of Mechanical Engineering Lab

The laboratory includes various models and charts of different faculties like I. C. Engines, Steam Boilers, Automobile components etc. to impart the knowledge of the subject to students.

Fluid Mechanics Lab

The laboratory is well equipped with all most recent experimental setups like Pelton, Francis and Kaplan Turbine Test Rigs, Centrifugal and Reciprocating Pump Test Rigs, etc. to cater the requirements of course.

Fluid Power Engineering Lab

The Laboratory is fully equipped with all the instruments related to measurement of Flow, Velocity, Friction Factor and Reynold’s Number etc. The lab test the fundamental principals of uid mechanics.

Internal combusion Engine Lab

It is well furnished with all equipments to carry out performance test on single cylinder 4- stroke Petrol Engine as well as to carry out Morse test on four cylinder 4-stroke Petrol Engine. The lab has simulation models of various parts and systems of IC engines.

Material Science and Metallurgy Lab

The Laboratory has various instruments contain basic to advance instruments, Metallurgical microscope, mufe furnace, Jomieny-end quench test, ne and rough polishing machine, sieve shakers.

Mechanical Measurement and Metrology Lab

The Laboratory is equipped with Vernier Calliper, Bevel Protractor, Sine Bar and Slip Gauges, Spirit Level, Combination Set, Surface Roughness tester etc.. to carrying out experiment and measures for Linear, Angular and Surface Roughness Measurement of different work pieces with different geometries.

Manufacturing Process I Lab

GPERI is having ultra-modern workshop & machine shop facilities including Heavy Duty Lathe, Shaper Machine, Tool & Cutter Grinder, Single Spindle Automate Machine, Capstan Lathe etc. for carrying out student’s job preparation work, project work and research & consultancy work.

Manufacturing Process II Lab

Manufacturing Processes – II laboratory is well equipped with instruments like Spot Welding Machine, Arc Welding Machine, TIG Welding Machine, MIG Welding Machine, Soldering & Brazing Set, Oxy-acetylene Welding Machine etc. to perform different practical in the area of welding technology.

Dynamics Of Machine Lab

The Laboratory deals with balancing of mechanisms, torsional and bending vibrations, vibration isolation, and the dynamic behaviour of drives and machine frames as complex systems using static and dynamic balancing apparatus, whirling of shaft apparatus and universal vibration apparatus.

Theory of Machine Lab

The laboratory is designed to carry out experiments on vibrations. It helps students to understand structural behaviour imposed by dynamic loads. High Frequency Shake Table with Model is available in the laboratory.

Production Thechnology Lab

The laboratory is designed to carry out experiments on vibrations. It helps students to understand structural behaviour imposed by dynamic loads. High Frequency Shake Table with Model is available in the laboratory.
